Create Online Portal Account

Prior to lodging an application for registration, you must have an active Biosecurity Entity Registration Portal online account. This can be done via the following:

  1. On the top menu bar, click Sign in.
  2. The Sign in with an existing account page is displayed.
    1. Scenario 1 – Existing Portal Account
      1. If you have an existing account, enter your Username and Password and click Sign in.
    2. Scenario 2 – No Portal Account
      1. Click the Register New Account button
      2. The Account Registration page is displayed.
      3. Complete the required fields in the Customer Details, Contact Details and Address Details sections and click Submit.
      4. Following submission of your details, our system will check you are not already registered and create a portal account for you. Once created, a portal activation link will be sent to your nominated email address within 24 hours allowing you to activate your portal account. Once activated, you will be able to log in to the portal and lodge your application for Biosecurity Entity Registration.

Lodge Biosecurity Entity Registration Application

  1. From your Profile page, on the top menu bar, click New Registration
  2. The Application for new registration page is displayed.
  3. Complete the following sections making sure you click Save & Continue to progress to the next section of the application.
    • Before you start
      • Enter details regarding the nature of your registration (i.e. what animals you keep and what purpose) to determine if your registration is commercial.
      • Once entered, click Save & Continue to move to the next section.
    • Registration Details
      • Enter any business details relating to your registration and once entered, click Save & Continue to move to the next section.
    • Registration Address
      • Enter the postal address for where you would like any documentation relating to your registration to by physically mailed. Please note – this may be a physical street address OR a post office box. Once entered, click Save & Continue to move to the next section.
    • Registration Contacts
      • Add the details of the persons responsible for keeping or owning animals by clicking Add.
        • The Add new registration contact page is displayed.
          1. Scenario 1 – if you want to add yourself to the registration
            1. If you are lodging the application on behalf of yourself, select Yes from the Do you want to insert your details in the form below?
            2. Select your role type from the Role Details section and click Add.
          2. Scenario 2 – if you need to add others to the registration
            1. If you are lodging the application on behalf of yourself, select No from the Do you want to insert your details in the form below?
            2. Complete the required fields in the Customer Details, Contact Details, Address Details and Role Details sections and click Submit.
    • Properties Section (if applicable)

If you keep livestock, horses or birds, you will be required add details of the properties where these animals are kept.

      • Click Add Property
      • The Property Search page will be displayed. This page allows you to check if the property you want to add already exists in our system.
      • Enter either a previous PIC Number or Lot on Plan Number to search for your property and click PIC Search.
          1. Scenario A – your property exists in our system
            1. The PIC Number and LGA of the property will be displayed.
            2. Complete the following applicable sections, ensuring to click Save & Continue after completing each section:
              1. PIC Details
              2. Your Property Role Details
              3. Supporting Documentation
              4. Livestock, horses and birds
              5. Applicant Declaration
            3. Once details for the above have been captured (where applicable), click Add Property.
            4. The property you have added will be displayed in the Properties sub grid.
          2. Scenario B – your property does not exist in our system
            1. A message will be displayed advising that any property matching the input details cannot be found. Click Request PIC.
            2. Complete the following applicable sections, ensuring to click Save & Continue after completing each section:
              1. PIC Details
              2. Access Address
              3. Lot on Plan
              4. Your Property Role Details (Property Contacts – if applicable)
              5. Supporting Documentation
              6. Livestock, horses and birds
              7. Applicant Declaration
            3. Once details for the above have been captured (where applicable), click Add Property.
            4. The property you have added will be displayed in the Properties sub grid.
    • Beehives Section (if applicable)

If you keep bees, you will be required add details of how many hives you keep and their location.

      • Click Add Beehive
      • The Hive Search page will be displayed. This page allows you to check if details of the hive you want to add are already in our system.
      • Enter a previous HIN to search for your Hive details and click HIN Search.
          1. Scenario A – your hive details are in our system
            1. The HIN Number and basic details will be displayed.
            2. Click Add HIN
          2. Scenario B – your hive details aren’t in our system
            1. Click Request HIN
            2. Complete the following applicable sections, ensuring to click Save & Continue after completing each section:
              1. Beekeeper Details
              2. Apiary Sites
              3. Hive Origins
              4. Applicant Declaration
            3. Once details for the above have been captured (where applicable), click Add HIN.
            4. The hive details you have added will be displayed in the Beehives sub grid.
    • Applicant Declaration
      • Complete the Applicant Declaration and click Submit to lodge your application for registration with the Department.
